We are launching Open X-Embodiment dataset, a resource for general-purpose robotics learning. With data from 22 robot types, the dataset allows for skills transfer across various robot embodiments. Additionally, we are releasing the RT-1-X, a trained robotics transformer model derived from RT-1.
We have developed a new collection of learning materials for robotics that can be applied to different types of robots. We collaborated with 34 academic laboratories and gathered data from 22 different robot types to create the Open X-Embodiment dataset. In addition, we are introducing the RT-1-X, a robotics transformer model that was trained on our dataset and can transfer skills to various robot types.
Action items:
1. Launch the new set of resources for general-purpose robotics learning across different robot types or embodiments.
2. Collaborate with partners from 34 academic labs to pool data from 22 different robot types and create the Open X-Embodiment dataset.
3. Release the RT-1-X robotics transformer (RT) model derived from RT-1 and trained on the dataset.
4. Demonstrate the skills transfer across many robot embodiments using the RT-1-X model. Please assign the action items to the relevant individuals in your organization.
