Performance Evaluation

In tests using the Tanks&Temples dataset, Light3R-SfM outperformed other methods in terms of accuracy and speed:

  • Higher Accuracy: It achieved 145% higher relative rotation accuracy and 84% higher translation accuracy compared to similar methods.
  • Faster Runtime: It operates nearly twice as fast as other feedforward methods.

Conclusion

Light3R-SfM replaces traditional methods with a more efficient approach, reducing processing time while maintaining accuracy. Although it has some limitations regarding scalability and accuracy with large image collections, it represents a significant step forward in the field.
