Prerequisites
In order to use the Amazon Kendra connector for Drupal, you will need:
- An AWS account with privileges to create IAM roles and policies
- Basic knowledge of AWS and Drupal administration
- Drupal set up with an administrator user
Configure the data source using the Amazon Kendra connector for Drupal
To add a data source to your Amazon Kendra index using the Drupal connector, follow these steps:
- Open your Amazon Kendra index and choose Data sources
- Choose Add data source and select Add connector under Drupal
- Enter a name and description for the data source and click Next
- Specify the Drupal site URL and configure SSL certificates
- Choose Save and add secret for authentication
- Create or choose an IAM role with appropriate permissions
- Configure sync settings and field mappings
- Review the configuration settings and save the data source
- Choose Sync now to start data synchronization with the Amazon Kendra Index
Perform intelligent search with Amazon Kendra
Once the data source sync is complete, you can start searching the indexed Drupal content using the Amazon Kendra search console or API.
Limitations
It’s important to note the following limitations when using this solution:
- Some content types that aren’t associated with any view cannot be crawled
- If an administrator doesn’t have access to a block, the data from the block cannot be crawled
- The document body may display HTML related tags if the HTML content is not well-formed
- Content types or block types without description or body will not be indexed
Clean up
To avoid future costs, it’s recommended to clean up the resources created as part of this solution, including the Amazon Kendra index and any IAM users created.
