Introduction to LG AI Research’s Innovations
With the rise of Large Language Models (LLMs), AI research has rapidly advanced, enhancing user experiences in reasoning and content generation. However, trust in these models’ results and their reasoning processes has become a significant concern. The quality and legality of the data used in these models are crucial, as the output relies heavily on the underlying datasets.
Introducing Agent AI
LG AI Research, a leader in AI, has developed Agent AI to tackle these challenges. This system monitors the lifecycle of training datasets, analyzing legal risks and potential threats associated with them. Additionally, LG AI Research has launched NEXUS, allowing users to explore results generated by Agent AI.
Addressing Data Compliance
LG AI Research emphasizes the importance of training data for AI models, especially as AI expands into various sectors. The main focus is on ensuring legal, safe, and ethical advancements. Their research revealed that training datasets are often redistributed multiple times, making it difficult to track their origins. This lack of transparency can lead to serious legal and compliance issues.
How Agent AI Works
Agent AI is designed to ensure data compliance by tracking complex datasets. It utilizes a comprehensive data compliance framework and the EXAONE 3.5 model. The system consists of three main modules:
- The Navigation Module: This module navigates web documents and analyzes AI-generated text data to find relevant links and license documents.
- The QA Module: It extracts dependency and license information from collected documents.
- The Scoring Module: Trained with a dataset labeled by lawyers, it evaluates potential legal risks based on license details and metadata.
Efficiency and Accuracy
Agent AI operates 45 times faster than a human expert and is 700 times more cost-effective. In tests, it accurately detected dependencies in 81.04% of datasets and identified license documents in 95.83% of cases.
Legal Risk Assessment Framework
The legal risk assessment for datasets is based on an 18-factor compliance framework developed by LG AI Research. This framework considers various aspects, such as license grants and privacy concerns, ensuring reliable risk assessments. Results are classified into a seven-level risk rating system, helping users understand the legal implications of their datasets.
Setting New Standards
Research through NEXUS has revealed significant inconsistencies in rights relationships among datasets. For instance, only 21.21% of commercially available AI training datasets remained compliant after assessing dependency risks.
Future Goals
LG AI Research aims to enhance Agent AI’s capabilities by expanding the datasets it analyzes and evolving the data compliance framework into a global standard. They plan to collaborate with the AI community and legal experts to establish these criteria internationally. Ultimately, LG AI Research envisions NEXUS as a comprehensive legal risk management system for AI developers, fostering a safe and responsible AI ecosystem.
