GPUDrive uses technical innovations such as Bounding Volume Hierarchy for efficient physics entity tracking, polyline decimation for road geometry simplification, and support for various observation spaces including LIDAR scans and human-like view cones. It achieves exceptional performance in simulation speed and reinforcement learning, outperforming CPU-based implementations and providing significant training speedups.
