This privacy policy applies to the Smart Audio Recorder mobile application (hereinafter referred to as “the App”). The App is provided free of charge and without advertisements.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or share any personally identifiable information. The App operates entirely locally on your device. We do not request or access your name, email address, phone number, location, or device identifiers.
2. Microphone and Audio Recording
The App requires permission to access your device’s microphone and screen audio (internal audio capture) to provide its core functionality: recording audio from the microphone and/or the device’s internal sound output.
- How it works: When you explicitly start a recording, the App captures audio from the source you select (microphone, screen audio, or both).
- Storage: All recordings are saved exclusively to your device’s local storage. They are never uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third party.
- Transparency: A persistent notification is shown during recording to inform you that the microphone and/or screen audio capture is active. Recording stops immediately when you press the Stop button, and the microphone access is released.
- No background access outside recordings: The microphone is not accessed or listened to unless you actively begin a recording within the App.
3. Screen Audio Capture
When you choose to record screen audio, the App captures the internal audio output of your device (for example, sound from apps, games, or streaming services). This is done using standard Android media projection APIs. No visual content is recorded. This audio is stored locally alongside any microphone input, and it is not transmitted anywhere.
4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not share any data with third parties. The App does not integrate any analytics, advertising networks, crash reporting SDKs, or external APIs that could transmit data off your device. There are no accounts, no log‑ins, and no servers to receive your information.
5. Data Security
All recordings remain under your full control on your device. You can play, rename, share, or delete them using the App’s built‑in file manager. We recommend you secure your device with a strong passcode or biometric authentication to prevent unauthorized physical access to your recordings.
Since the App operates offline and does not store data externally, there is no risk of a server‑side data breach affecting your recordings.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13. However, because it does not collect any personal information whatsoever, it can be used safely by individuals of all ages. No parental consent is required for its data practices.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a new effective date at the top of this page. You are advised to review this policy periodically for any updates.
