Bot Mode solves this by providing distinct Hermes profiles for every bot, so memory, credentials and history stay confined to each profile, eliminating unwanted bleed‑through. Teams can pin different models to different bots—using a powerful reasoning model for research and a lightweight model for writing—without juggling global settings. Work handoffs happen through a persistent Agent Inbox via simple @mention commands, turning what used to be a manual copy‑paste process into a real CLI invocation that each bot processes in turn. For collaborative workflows, groups of bots can share a room where a message triggers up to three serial rounds of replies, mentioned bots respond first and others chime in when no one is addressed, keeping conversations organized and predictable. Advanced users can tweak each bot’s SOUL.md, enable or disable specific skills, set up namespaced cron routines, and even generate custom avatars—all without leaving the desktop app. Because Bot Mode ships bundled and default‑on in Hermes Agent v0.20.3 under an MIT license, there is no extra cost, no admin console to manage, and no infrastructure overhead.
